Amazon Echo Computer Science Quiz

Code College releases its Second Amazon Echo Application.

Following on from its first Amazon Echo application “Computer Science Definitions”, which was released as a way to teach computer science definitions to children studying GCSE or iGCSE Computer Science, Code College has released its second Amazon Echo Application, called Computer Science Quiz.

Computer Science Quiz

This application (called a Skill by Amazon) has been designed as a follow on to Computer Science Definitions. Rather than coaching a learner to remember the meanings of definitions, this application tests a learners knowledge by asking them a series of ten randomly chosen questions, then gives them a set of four multiple choice answers from which they choose their answer. Computer Science Quiz then scores the learner on their performance by giving them their score out of ten for that session.

By using Computer Science Quiz on a regular basis, students will be able to test their knowledge, identify their weaknesses, and gain extra marks (and hopefully higher grades) in their Computing or Computer Science exams.

Computer Science Quiz was written by David Batty of Code College as a way of taking his teachings to a wider audience. David normally travels around the country delivering teacher training in schools, hotels and training centres, he also delivers online training and mentoring to teachers and pupils.

David delivers about 100 in-school teacher training courses a year on a range of computer subjects from Scratch programming through to Python, Visual Basic and Gamemaker Studio training, as well as custom courses for teachers on writing solutions to Controlled Assessments.
