Teach Programming with Python for Primary Schools
If you have taught Scratch in the primary classroom and need something for yourself to deliver to more advanced learners then learn how to write programs in Python, the programming language used in hundreds of thousands of schools.
This course relies on freely downloadable Python software so no software purchase is required. The course teaches computational thinking and programming concepts suitable for introducing programming to your classroom.
Participants will gain the skills needed to teach Programming and computational thinking in the primary classroom even if you have never done anything similar before. There are no course pre-requisites apart from the ability to use a computer.
No prior knowledge of programming is assumed, in a friendly supportive class this course will gently introduce you to the concepts, skills and techniques required to be a programmer and to teach programming.
The course also includes tips on delivering programming courses, differential learning, peer evaluation techniques and ideas for projects.

The course is delivered by David Batty, who has 24 years of classroom experience teaching various computer subjects, and has been a programmer for 33 years.
